Golden Rim Surgeonfish

Acanthurus nigricans, communément nommé Poisson chirurgien à joues blanches, est une espèce de poissons marins de la famille des Acanthuridae (les « poissons-chirurgiens »). Description C'est un poisson-chirurgien de taille moyenne (15-20 cm), au corps élevé et très aplati latéralement. Le corps est sombre (de marron à violet), caractérisé par une tache blanche sous l’œil, un liseré jaune vif à la base des nageoires dorsale et anale (ainsi qu'autour des épines caudales), toutes les nageoires se terminant par un liseré bleu.

Acanthurus nigricans, the goldrim surgeonfish, velvet surgeon, whitecheek surgeonfish, yellow-banded surgeonfish or yellowrimmed surgeonfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Acanthuridae, the surgeonfishes, unicornfishes and tangs. This species is found from the central Indo-Pacific area to the eastern Pacific coast, Hawaii included. Taxonomy Acanthurus nigricans was first formally described by Linnaeus in the 10th edition of the Systema Naturae published in 1758 with the type locality given as the Red Sea but it is actually thought to be Indonesia.

El Acanthurus nigricans es una especie de pez cirujano de la familia de los Acantúridos. Sus nombres comunes en español son cirujano cariblanco, cirujano de filo amarillo o navajón cariblanco. ​ Biología Posee la morfología típica de su familia, cuerpo comprimido lateralmente y ovalado.
