Ancistrus multispinis is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Loricariidae, the suckermouth armoured catfishes, and the subfamily Hypostominae, the suckermouth catfishes. This catfish is endemic to Brazil. Taxonomy Ancistrus multispinis was first formally described in 2009 by the British ichthyologist Charles Tate Regan with its type locality given as the Humboldt River, the Itapocu River, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.
