Classification

Aphyocharax pusillus is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish, a characin, belonging to the family Characidae. This fish is found in the Amazon basin of South America. Taxonomy Aphyocharax pusillus was first formally described in 1868 by the German-born British herpetologist and ichthyologist Albert Günther from two syntypes collected by Edward Bartlett in Xeberos and Huallaga in the Peruvian part of the Amazon Basin.
