Ferruginous Duck

Le Fuligule nyroca (Aythya nyroca) est une espèce d'oiseaux parfois citée sous le nom d’Anas nyroca appartenant à la famille des Anatidae. Description Cet oiseau mesure environ 41 cm pour la femelle et 43 cm pour le mâle pour une envergure de 63 à 67 cm et une masse de 570 à 800 g. Il présente un dimorphisme sexuel : le mâle a un plumage nuptial brun acajou et noir tandis que la femelle est brune.

The ferruginous duck (Aythya nyroca), also known as the ferruginous pochard, common white-eye or white-eyed pochard, is a medium-sized diving duck native to the Palearctic. The scientific name is derived from the Ancient Greek word, αἴθυιᾰ (aithuia), an unknown seabird mentioned by authors including Hesychius and Aristotle, and the Russian word, нырок (nyrok), the Russian word for pochard, which occurs in the bird's Russian common name. Description The breeding male is a rich, dark chestnut on the head, breast and flanks with contrasting pure white undertail coverts.

El porrón pardo (Aythya nyroca)​ es una especie de ave anseriforme de la familia Anatidae que habita en Europa, África y Asia. Es un pato buceador pequeño, estrecho y de tonos marrones, clasificado como especie casi amenazada. Descripción El porrón pardo mide entre 38 y 42 cm de longitud, con una envergadura alar de 63 a 67cm,​ y suele pesar entre 400 y 700 g.
