Northern Short-tailed Shrew

La Grande musaraigne (Blarina brevicauda), appelée aussi parfois plus précisément Grande musaraigne à queue courte est une espèce d'insectivores de la famille des soricidés. On la retrouve en Amérique du Nord. C'est la plus grande musaraigne de l'est du Canada.

The northern short-tailed shrew (Blarina brevicauda) is the largest shrew in the genus Blarina, and occurs in the northeastern region of North America. It is a semifossorial, highly active, and voracious insectivore and is present in a variety of habitats like broadleaved and pine forests among shrubs and hedges as well as grassy river banks. It is notable in that it is one of the few venomous mammals.

Blarina brevicauda es una especie de mamífero de la familia Soricidae​ que se encuentra en la región nororiental de América del Norte. ​ Es un insectívoro semifosorial, muy activo y voraz, y se encuentra presente en una variedad de hábitats tales como bosques de hojas anchas y pinos entre arbustos y setos, así como riberas de ríos cubiertas de hierba. ​ Es notable por ser uno de los pocos mamíferos venenosos .
