Axilspot Hogfish

Bodianus axillaris, communément nommé Labre à tache axillaire ou encore Tamarin, est une espèce de poisson marin de la famille des Labridae. Il est présent dans les eaux tropicales de la zone Indo-Pacifique, Mer Rouge incluse. Sa taille maximale est de 20 cm.

Bodianus axillaris, the axilspot hogfish, coral pigfish or turncoat hogfish, is a species of wrasse native to the Indo-Pacific. Description The axilspot hogfish is sexually dimorphic with the adult males being coloured reddish-brown on the front part of their bodies contrasting with the white posterior end and having a sizeable black spot at the base of the pectoral fin, as well as on the dorsal and anal fins. The females and the juveniles are a blackish colour marked with white blotches along the upper and lower flanks.

El pez puerco de axilas moteadas (Bodianus axillaris) es un pez de la familia Labridae en el orden de los Perciformes. Morfología Los machos pueden llegar alcanzar los 20 cm de longitud estándar. ​ Hábitat Arrecifes tropicales; en profundidades comprendidas entre 2 y 100 m, pero con más frecuencia entre 2 y 40 m.
