Early Bumblebee

Bombus pratorum, le bourdon des prés, est une espèce d'insectes hyménoptères de la famille des Apidae (de Apis: abeille), du genre Bombus et du sous-genre Pyrobombus. C'est un petit bourdon précoce, à collier jaune et extrémité abdominale orange. L'épithète spécifique pratorum est la forme génitive du latin pratum « pré ».

The early bumblebee or early-nesting bumblebee (Bombus pratorum) is a small bumblebee with a wide distribution in most of Europe and parts of Asia. It is very commonly found in the UK and emerges to begin its colony cycle as soon as February which is earlier than most other species, hence its common name. There is even some evidence that the early bumblebee may be able to go through two colony cycles in a year.

Bombus hyperboreus es una especie de abejorro ártico con una distribución circumpolar. La especie se encuentra principalmente en las zonas árticas de Canadá, Alaska, Groenlandia, el norte de Escandinavia y Rusia. ​ Sin embargo, más recientemente, (2015), un abejorro cercano genéticamente a esta especie, el abejorro neártico Bombus natvigi, ha sido separado de esta especie, basándose en análisis genéticos.
