The European green toad (Bufotes viridis) is a species of true toad found in steppes, mountainous areas, semi-deserts, urban areas and other habitats in mainland Europe, ranging from far eastern France and Denmark to the Balkans, European Russia and the Caucasus. As historically defined, the species ranged east through the Middle East and Central Asia to western China, Mongolia and northwestern India, and south through Italy and the Mediterranean islands to North Africa. El sapo verde europeo (Bufotes viridis) es una especie de anfibio anuro de la familia Bufonidae; se puede encuentra en Europa continental, Asia y el Norte de África. Esta especie no existe en la península ibérica y a veces es confundida con Bufotes balearicus, que probablemente fue introducida en Baleares en edad muy antigua procedente de Córcega, Cerdeña o Italia. Viven en áreas diversas, incluyendo estepas, zonas montañosas semidesiertos y áreas urbanas.
