Smith's Longspur

Le Plectrophane de Smith (Calcarius pictus) ou Bruant de Smith, est une espèce de passereaux de la famille des Calcariidae. Son nom est attribué au zoologiste écossais Andrew Smith (1797-1872). Description Cet oiseau mesure jusqu'à 17 cm.

Smith's longspur (Calcarius pictus) is a bird from the family Calcariidae, which also contains the other species of longspurs. A bird of open habitats, it breeds in northern Canada and Alaska, and winters in the southern United States. Primarily a ground-feeding seed-eater, it supplements its diet with insects in the summer.

El escribano de Smith (Calcarius pictus)​​ es una especie de ave paseriforme de la familia Calcariidae. Se reproduce en el norte de Canadá y Alaska y migra en el invierno al área de las grandes Llanuras en el centro de Estados Unidos, es de hábito poliginandrico. Se alimentan principalmente de semillas e insectos.
