Black-shouldered Opossum

L'Opossum à épaules noires (Caluromysiops irrupta) est une espèce de marsupiaux de la famille des Didelphidae. Cet opossum est l'unique représentant du genre Caluromysiops. Description Une large raie noire caractérise cet opossum à la fourrure laineuse.

The black-shouldered opossum (Caluromysiops irrupta), also known as the white-eared opossum, is an opossum known from western Brazil and southeastern Peru. It was first described by Colin Campbell Sanborn, curator of Field Museum of Natural History, in 1951. The black-shouldered opossum is characterized by a gray coat, gray underbelly, and broad black stripes that extend from the forefeet, meet on the shoulders, run along the midline of the back and then split into parallel stripes that run down the hind feet.

Caluromysiops irrupta es una especie de marsupial didelfimorfo de la familia Didelphidae, la única del género Caluromysiops, estrechamente relacionado con Caluromys, hasta el punto de que algunos autores lo consideran como subgénero del mismo. Entre los nombres vernáculos que recibe están el de zarigüeya lanuda de hombros negros, zarigüeya lanuda inca, filandro incaico y zarigüeyita de estola negra. La localidad tipo está en Quispicanchi (Perú).
