Alesa amesis est un insecte lépidoptère appartenant à la famille des Riodinidae et au genre Alesa. Dénomination Alesa amesis a initialement été décrit par Pieter Cramer en 1777 sous le nom de Papilio amesis. Noms vernaculaires En anglais, on l'appelle communément Amesis Metalmark.

An ant garden is a mutualistic interaction between certain species of arboreal ants and various epiphytic plants. It is a structure made in the tree canopy by the ants that is filled with debris and other organic matter in which epiphytes grow. The ants benefit from this arrangement by having a stable framework on which to build their nest while the plants benefit by obtaining nutrients from the soil and from the moisture retained there.

Un jardín de hormigas es una interacción mutualista entre determinadas especies de hormigas arborícolas y diversas plantas epífitas. Se trata de una estructura hecha en la copa de los árboles por las hormigas que se llena de escombros y otra materia orgánica en la que crecen las epífitas. Las hormigas se benefician de esta disposición al disponer de un marco estable sobre el que construir su nido, mientras que las plantas se benefician al obtener nutrientes del suelo y de la humedad retenida en él.
