Oval Butterflyfish

The oval butterflyfish (Chaetodon lunulatus), red-finned butterflyfish or redfin butterflyfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish, a butterflyfish belonging to family Chaetodontidae. It is found in the Pacific Ocean from Eastern Indonesia to the Hawaiian islands. This is one species of a closely related group which includes the blacktail butterflyfish, which is found in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, and the melon butterflyfish, which is found in the Indian Ocean.

Le Poisson-papillon côtelé du Pacifique (Chaetodon lunulatus) est une espèce de poissons de la famille des Chaetodontidae. Sous-genre Le poisson-papillon côtelé du Pacifique est un poisson-papillon qui fait partie du sous-genre Corallochaetodon. En 1984, André Maugé et Roland Bauchot ont proposé d'intégrer ce sous-genre dans un nouveau genre, Mesochaetodon, ce qui donnerait comme nom scientifique pour ce poisson Mesochaetodon lunulatus.

El pez mariposa Chaetodon lunulatus es un pez marino, de la familia de los Chaetodontidae. Sus nombres comunes más populares en inglés son Oval butterflyfish, o pez mariposa oval, y Redfin butterflyfish, o pez mariposa de aleta roja. ​ Morfología Posee la morfología típica de su familia, cuerpo ovalado y comprimido lateralmente, aunque en su caso, su perfil ovalado es más acentuado.
