Charaxes lycurgus

Charaxes est un genre de lépidoptères (papillons) appartenant à la famille des Nymphalidae, à la sous-famille des Charaxinae et à la tribu des Charaxini. Description Distribution Le genre Charaxes comprend environ 200 espèces majoritairement distribuées en Afrique tropicale. Plusieurs groupes d'espèces sont également présents dans les régions Orientale et Australasienne (y compris certaines îles du Pacifique).

Charaxes lycurgus, the Laodice untailed charaxes, is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is found in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Uganda and Tanzania. The habitat consists of lowland evergreen forests and riverine forests.
