Charaxes viola

Charaxes est un genre de lépidoptères (papillons) appartenant à la famille des Nymphalidae, à la sous-famille des Charaxinae et à la tribu des Charaxini. Description Distribution Le genre Charaxes comprend environ 200 espèces majoritairement distribuées en Afrique tropicale. Plusieurs groupes d'espèces sont également présents dans les régions Orientale et Australasienne (y compris certaines îles du Pacifique).

Charaxes viola, the savanna demon charaxes, is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is found in Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Uganda and Kenya. The habitat consists of dry savanna and dry forests.
