Deep-water Bristlemouth

Cyclothone atraria est une espèce de poisson appartenant à la famille des Gonostomatidae.

Cyclothone atraria, commonly known as the deep-water bristlemouth, is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Cyclothone. It is found in the North Pacific and is considered to be a part of the most abundant fish genus. Like other species in Cyclothone, the micronektonic fish spends all its life in the deeper depths of water.

El género Cyclothone son peces marinos de la familia gonostomátidos, llamados comúnmente bocas-cerdosa, peces-luciérnaga o peces-luminosos -por sus órganos bioluminiscentes-, distribuidos ampliamente por las aguas profundas abisales de todos los océanos del planeta. ​ Su dimensión aproximada es de menos de ocho centímetros, y apenas tienen algo de resistencia, pues son muy frágiles. Suelen ser pescados por los barcos pesqueros de arrastre con facilidad.
