Foothill Stipplethroat

The foothill stipplethroat (Epinecrophylla spodionota), previously called the foothill antwren, is a species of bird in subfamily Thamnophilinae of family Thamnophilidae, the "typical antbirds". It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Taxonomy and systematics The foothill stipplethroat was described by the English ornithologists Philip Sclater and Osbert Salvin in 1880 and given the binomial name Myrmotherula spodionota.

El hormiguerito submontano​ (en Perú) (Epinecrophylla spodionota), también denominado hormiguerito ecuatoriano (en Colombia y Ecuador),​ es una especie de ave paseriforme de la familia Thamnophilidae perteneciente al género Epinecrophylla. Es nativo de los Andes del noroeste y oeste de América del Sur. Distribución y hábitat Se distribuye por las estribaciones orientales de los Andes desde el sur de Colombia, por Ecuador, hasta el sureste de Perú.
