woolly elm aphid

Eriosoma americanum, the woolly elm aphid, is an aphid native to North America, found where Saskatoon (Amelanchier alnifolia) and American elm (Ulmus americana) trees are established. The aphid feeds on the Saskatoon in late spring through fall, and the American elm during both early spring and late fall. Symptoms of American elm infestations include curled elm leaves, later accompanied by masses of visible dark areas and cottony masses.

Le puceron lanigère du pommier (Eriosoma lanigerum) est une espèce d'insectes hémiptères de la famille des Aphididae, aptère, originaire d'Amérique. Sa cible principale étant le pommier, cela justifie son nom vernaculaire. Dans le même genre Eriosoma, on trouve l'espèce Eriosoma lanuginosum Hartig, 1839, dont la cible est l'orme champêtre (Ulmus minor).

Eriosoma lanigerum Hausm. , cuyo nombre común es pulgón lanígero del manzano, es un hemíptero de la familia de los áfidos,​ una de las aproximadamente 30 especies del género Eriosoma. ​ Descripción y biología Las hembras ápteras son vivíparas.
