Large Marble

Euchloe ausonides est une espèce d'insectes lépidoptères de la sous-famille des Pierinae (famille des Pieridae). Dénomination Euchloe ausonides a été nommé en 1852 par l'entomologiste français Hippolyte Lucas (1814-1899). Synonymes : Euchloe flavidalis Comstock, 1924 Euchloe semiflava Comstock, 1924 Euchloe boharti Doudoroff, 1930 Euchloe hemiflava Field, 1936 Noms vernaculaires Euchloe ausonides se nomme en anglais Large Marble ou Creamy Marblewing ; la sous-espèce Euchloe ausonides insulana se nomme Island Marble.

Euchloe ausonides, the large marble or creamy marblewing, is a species of butterfly that occurs in western North America. It lays eggs on the terminal flower buds of a variety of plants in the mustard family, including introduced Eurasian species, and the larvae feed on the buds, flowers and fruit of these plants. In California, it has witnessed population declines since the 1980s, especially in the Central Valley and the Bay Area.

Euchloe es un género de mariposas de la familia Pieridae (subfamilia Pierinae, tribu Anthocharini). Incluye 2 subgéneros y 27 especies (incluyendo 6 incertae sedis), se distribuyen por Europa, Asia menor, norte de África, América del Norte y América Central.
