Eastern Rockhopper Penguin

Le Gorfou de Filhol (Eudyptes filholi) est dune espèce d'oiseaux de la famille des Spheniscidae. Son nom est dédié à Henri Filhol (1843-1902). Description Il se distingue du Gorfou sauteur par une tache jaune à la base du bec.

The eastern rockhopper penguin (Eudyptes filholi), also known as the tawaki kaipiki toka (Māori: 'rock climber'), is a crested penguin with yellow crest feathers. It was formerly treated as conspecific with the western rockhopper penguin with the name "southern rockhopper penguin" for the combined species. It is one of the smallest crested penguins and has distinctive pink margins around its bill.

Eudyptes chrysocome filholi es una de las dos subespecies del pingüino Eudyptes chrysocome. Se distribuye en islas subantárticas situadas en el sur del océano Índico, hasta el sur de Nueva Zelanda. Descripción original Fue descrita originalmente por Hutton en el año 1879.
