Long-branded Blue Crow

Euploea algea est un insecte lépidoptère de la famille des Nymphalidae, de la sous-famille des Danainae et du genre Euploea. Dénomination Euploea algea a été nommé par Godart en 1819. Sous-espèces Euploea algea aglaina (Fruhstorfer, 1910) Euploea algea helcita (Boisduval, 1859) ou Euploea helcita en Nouvelle-Calédonie.

Euploea algea, the long branded blue crow, is a butterfly found in India and Southeast Asia that belongs to the crows and tigers, that is, the Danaid group of the brush-footed butterflies family. This is a large light brown butterfly with a wingspan of 60 to 70 mm depending on the subspecies, presents an upperside with forewings (dependent on the subspecies) with small metallic blue to completely metallic blue spots. The reverse is light brown dotted with small white dots in different numbers depending on the subspecies.

Euploea es un género de lepidópteros perteneciente a la familia Nymphalidae. Es originario de Asia y Oceanía. Especies Euploea alcathoe (Godart, 1819) en Borneo, Molucas, Nueva Guinea y Australia.
