Mechow's Mole Rat

Cryptomys mechowi est une espèce de mammifères rongeurs de la famille des Bathyergidae. Ce rat-taupe vit dans des souterrains, en Angola, en République démocratique du Congo (sur les plateaux Batéké) et en Zambie. Il est très apprécié pour sa chair, ce qui contribue à la mise en danger de l'espèce.

Mechow's mole-rat (Fukomys mechowii) is a species of rodent in the family Bathyergidae. It is found in Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, and possibly Malawi. Its natural habitats are moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland.

Fukomys mechowii es una especie de roedor de la familia Bathyergidae. Se encuentra en Angola, República Democrática del Congo, Zambia, Tanzania y posiblemente Malawi. Esta rata topo fue descrita por primera vez por el naturalista alemán Wilhelm Peters en 1881.
