Red-throated Loon

Le Plongeon catmarin (Gavia stellata), aussi appelé Plongeon à gorge rouge, Plongeon à gorge rousse, et au Québec Huart à gorge rousse, est une espèce d'oiseaux de l'ordre des gaviiformes. C'est le plus petit membre de la famille des gaviidés ; il mesure de 52 à 70 cm de long et son envergure varie de 91 à 116 cm, parfois au-delà. C’est aussi celui qui a l’aire de répartition la plus étendue.

The red-throated loon (North America) or red-throated diver (Britain and Ireland) (Gavia stellata) is a migratory aquatic bird found in the Northern Hemisphere. The most widely distributed member of the loon or diver family, it breeds primarily in Arctic regions, and it winters in northern coastal waters. Ranging from 55 to 67 centimetres (22 to 26 in) in length, the red-throated loon is the smallest and lightest of the world's loons.

El colimbo chico (Gavia stellata)​ es una especie de ave gaviforme de la familia Gaviidae propia del Holártico. Es un ave acuática migratoria que cría en lagunas y charcas de agua dulce árticas y semiárticas, y en invierno migra principalmente a las costas de Eurasia y Norteamérica. El colimbo chico, además de ser el colimbo más extendido del mundo, es el más pequeño de todos.
