The following list of mantis genera and species is based on the "Mantodea Species File", which is the primary reference for the taxonomy shown here. The insect order Mantodea consists of over 2,400 species of mantises in about 460 genera. 75 of these genera are in the family Mantidae (the mantids), which formerly was the sole family recognized within the order.

Geomantis larvoides es una especie de mantis de la familia Mantidae. ​ Especie de pequeño tamaño y áptera. Lleva este nombre por vivir principalmente en la tierra (donde es una buena corredora y caza principalmente microlepidópteros) y por recordar mucho su aspecto al de un juvenil de Ameles o de Rivetina.
