Gibbula is a genus of small sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the subfamily Cantharidinae of the family Trochidae, the top snails. Taxonomy Affenzeller et al. (2017) have shown than several Mediterranean species hitherto assigned to Gibbula were forming a separate clade and should be assigned to the genus Steromphala.
