The northern clingfish (Gobiesox maeandricus) is a small marine species that inhabits the intertidal zone of the eastern Pacific Ocean. It is a member of the Gobiesocidae family, a group of ray-finned fishes known for their specialized suction discs, which allow them to cling to rocks and other substrates in dynamic tidal environments. Gobiesocidae es una familia de peces del orden Gobiesociformes. Muchas especies son marinas, encontrándose en aguas superficiales de los océanos Atlántico, Pacífico e Índico. Son peces bentónicos que pueden buscar protección entre erizos o en crinoideos.
