Cydno Longwing

Le Heliconius cydno est un lépidoptère appartenant à la famille des Nymphalidae, à la sous-famille des Heliconiinae et au genre Heliconius. Dénomination Heliconius charithonia a été nommé par Henry Doubleday en 1847. Noms vernaculaires Heliconius cydno se nomme Cydno Longwing en anglais.

Heliconius cydno, the cydno longwing, is a nymphalid butterfly that ranges from Mexico to northern South America. It is typically found in the forest understory and deposits its eggs on a variety of plants of the genus Passiflora. It is a member of the Heliconiinae subfamily of Central and South America, and it is the only heliconiine that can be considered oligophagous.

Heliconius cydno es una especie de lepidóptero de la familia Nymphalidae. Se distribuye desde México hasta el norte de Sudamérica. ​ Las larvas se alimentan de especies de Passiflora, incluidas Passiflora vitifolia y Passiflora biflora.
