Himalayan Tahr

Le jharal (Hemitragus jemlahicus) ou tahr de l'Himalaya est un mammifère de la famille des Bovidés est un caprin de l'Himalaya. Le jharal a une sous-espèce le Jharal du Népal. Description Le tahr de l'Himalaya est recouvert de longs poils sur toute la surface du corps (hors la face).

The Himalayan tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus) is a large even-toed ungulate native to the Himalayas in southern Tibet, northern India, western Bhutan and Nepal. It is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List, as the population is declining due to hunting and habitat loss. The Himalayan tahr has been introduced to Argentina, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States.

Hemitragus jemlahicus es un mamífero artiodáctilo emparentado con la cabra salvaje. Habita en las montañas del Himalaya, desde la India al Tíbet. Su nombre común en castellano es cabra del Himalaya​ o tar del Himalaya.
