Yellow Garden Eel

Heteroconger (aussi nommé Taenioconger ou Taeniconger) est un genre de poissons longs et minces appelés hétérocongres ou anguilles tubicoles, représentés par la sous-famille des Heterocongrinae. Ces poissons vivent dans des grandes colonies (appelés "jardins"). La tête en avant, ils capturent le zooplancton apporté par le courant.

This species is found in the Western Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. Taxonomy The yellow garden eel was first formally described in 1989 by the American ichthyologist David George Smith with its type locality given as the Eastern Gulf of Mexico off Florida at 28°42'00.
