Ips confusus, known generally as the pinyon pine beetle or pinyon ips, is a species of typical bark beetle in the family Curculionidae. It is found in Central America and North America. Description The pinyon ips is a small, brown, cylindrical bark beetle with spines on the distal portion of the abdomen, which is typical for this genus of bark beetles.

Ips confusus es una especie de escarabajo del género Ips, tribu Ipini, familia Curculionidae. ​ Fue descrita científicamente por Wood y Bright en 1992. ​ Se mantiene activa durante todos los meses del año.
