Yellow-crowned Brush-tailed Rat

Isothrix bistriata est une espèce de rongeurs de la famille des Echimyidae. C'est un « rat épineux » d'Amérique latine. Cette espèce a été décrite pour la première fois en 1845 par le zoologiste et archéologue allemand Johann Andreas Wagner (1797-1861).

The yellow-crowned brush-tailed rat (Isothrix bistriata) is a South American species of brush-tailed rat in the family Echimyidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. They are nocturnal and arboreal animals found in lowland evergreen rainforest, probably restricted to igapó and várzea habitats.
