Kallima sylvia

Parthenos sylvia est une espèce de lépidoptères (papillons) de la famille des Nymphalidae, de la sous-famille des Limenitidinae et du genre Parthenos. Dénomination Parthenos sylvia a été nommé par Pieter Cramer en 1776. Synonyme : Papilio sylvia Cramer, [1776]; Noms vernaculaires Il se nomme Clipper en anglais.

Parthenos sylvia, the clipper, is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in south and southeast Asia, mostly in forested areas. The clipper is a fast-flying butterfly and has a habit of flying with its wings flapping stiffly between the horizontal position and a few degrees below the horizontal. It may glide between spurts of flapping.

Parthenos sylvia es una especie de lepidóptero ditrisio de la familia Nymphalidae propia del sur y sureste de Asia. Se la encuentra sobre todo en áreas boscosas. Esta mariposa es rápida y suele volar moviendo sus alas rígidamente entre la horizontal y algunos grados debajo de ella.
