Irish Hare

Le Lough Derravaragh (en irlandais : Loch Dairbhreach) est un lough situé en Irlande dans le comté de Westmeath, au nord de Mullingar, entre Castlepollard, Crookedwood et Multyfarnham. Le Lough Derravaragh se trouve sur la rivière Inny qui coule depuis le Lough Sheelin, sur sa route vers le fleuve Shannon. C'est un lac très apprécié pour la pêche sportive et les sports nautiques.

Lepus timidus hibernicus, more commonly known as the Irish hare, is a subspecies of the mountain hare (Lepus timidus) that is native to the island of Ireland. It is the only species of hare endemic to Ireland, and is known for its distinctive appearance and behaviour. Description and habitat The Irish hare is similar in appearance to other mountain hare subspecies but tends to have a slightly darker coat, especially during the winter months.

La liebre de montaña (Lepus timidus), también conocida como liebre variable y liebre irlandesa, es una liebre que se ha adaptado a los ecosistemas polares y montañosos. ​ Habita la zona comprendida entre Fenoscandia y el este de Siberia; además existen poblaciones aisladas en los Alpes, en Irlanda, Polonia, el Reino Unido y Hokkaidō. Fue introducida por los humanos en Shetland y en las islas Feroe.
