Leuciscus burdigalensis

Classification

Leuciscus burdigalensis, the beaked dace, is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Leuciscidae, the family which includes the daces, the minnows and related fishes. This species is endemic to Western France. Taxonomy Leuciscus burdigalensis was first formally described in 1844 by the French zoologist Achille Valenciennes with its type locality givenas the Gironde estuary.
