Ligumia recta, or the black sandshell, is a species of freshwater mussel, an aquatic bivalve mollusk in the family Unionidae, the river mussels. This species is found in eastern North America. It is native to the drainages of the Mississippi River, the drainages of the Great Lakes, and some Gulf Coast drainages.
