Yellow Cellar Slug

Limacus flavus, communément appelée Limace des caves, est une espèce de limaces, un mollusque gastéropode pulmoné terrestre de la famille des limacidés. En anglais, l'espèce est appelée yellow slug (« limace jaune »). Dénominations Nom scientifique valide : Limacus flavus (Linnaeus, 1758), Nom normalisé : Limace des caves, depuis 2010, Autres noms vulgaires (vulgarisation scientifique) : Grande limace jaune, Limace blonde, Limace tachetée.

Limacus flavus, known commonly as the cellar slug, the yellow slug, or the tawny garden slug, is a large species of air-breathing land slug, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Limacidae. Description and identification Limacus flavus and L. maculatus are both large species of slug (up to 130 mm) with a yellow colouration, mottled with darker blotches; the tentacles are blue-grey.
