Melamphaes microps est un poisson bathypélagique vivant dans le nord de l'Atlantique.

Melamphaes microps, the smalleye bigscale or smalleye ridgehead is a fish of the genus Melamphaes, found in the North Atlantic, South Atlantic, southern Indian Ocean, and the south west Pacific including New Zealand, at depths of from 1,000 to 3,000 m. Los melánfidos o familia Melamphaidae son peces marinos incluidos en el orden Stephanoberyciformes, que se distribuyen por casi todos los océanos emnos en el Ártico y en el Mediterráneo. ​ Su nombre procede del griego: melanos (negro) + amphi (por ambos lados). ​ Aparecen por primera vez en el registro fósil en el Mioceno.
