The Western Congo worm lizard (Monopeltis guentheri) is a species of amphisbaenian in the family Amphisbaenidae. The species is endemic to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Etymology The specific name, guentheri, is in honor of German-born British herpetologist Albert Günther.
