Southern Red Muntjac

Le Muntjac indien ou Cerf aboyeur (Muntiacus muntjak) est un petit cervidé qui vit dans le sous-continent indien et en Asie du Sud-Est. Il est appelé ឈ្លូស en khmer, อีเก้ง ou ฟาน en thaï. Répartition et habitat On trouve des populations de ces cervidés au Sri Lanka, en Inde, au Népal, au Pakistan (dans le nord-est), au Bangladesh, au Bhoutan, en Chine (dans le sud), en Birmanie, en Thaïlande, au Laos, au Vietnam, au Cambodge, en Malaisie, en Indonésie (Sumatra, Bornéo, Java, Bali et d'autres îles).

The southern red muntjac (Muntiacus muntjak) is a deer species native to Southeast Asia. It was formerly known as the Indian muntjac or the common muntjac before the species was taxonomically revised to represent only populations of Thailand, Sunda and perhaps Malaysia. The other populations being attributed to this species are now attributed to Muntiacus vaginalis (northern red muntjac).

El muntíaco de la India o muntíaco común (Muntiacus muntjak) es una especie de mamífero artiodáctilo de la familia Cervidae que habita por todo el Sudeste Asiático. Los muntjacs son solitarios y nocturnos, y generalmente viven en áreas de vegetación densa. Son conocidos como ciervos ladradores debido a su grito.
