Masked Duck

L'Érismature routoutou (Nomonyx dominicus), aussi dit Canard routoutou, est une espèce d'oiseaux de la famille des Anatidae. C'est la seule espèce du genre Nomonyx. Description Cet oiseau mesure environ 30 à 33 cm, a une couleur brun-roux, le bec étant bleu pour les mâles et gris pour les femelles.

The masked duck (Nomonyx dominicus) is a tiny stiff-tailed duck ranging through the tropical Americas. Taxonomy The only member of the genus Nomonyx, it is intermediate between the rather primitive black-headed duck (Heteronetta) and the very apomorphic true stiff-tailed ducks. It is sometimes included with the latter in the genus Oxyura, but the masked ducks are now considered the descendants of a missing link in the Oxyurini evolution, having changed little for millions of years.

El pato zambullidor (Nomonyx dominicus),​ también conocido como malvasía enmascarada , pato enmascarado o pato fierro, es una especie de ave anseriforme de la familia Anatidae que habita Centroamérica y América del Sur. Se encuentra presente en las Antillas del Caribe. Tiene unos 30 cm de largo, es más confiado, pero se oculta entre la vegetación.
