Kayan Slow Loris

Les nycticèbes (Nycticebus) forment un genre de primates comprenant plusieurs espèces de loris. Ils sont menacés d'extinction et nommés sur la Liste rouge de l'UICN comme vulnérable ou en danger. Depuis 2007 ils sont enregistrés dans Annexe I de la CITES.

The Kayan River slow loris (Nycticebus kayan) is a strepsirrhine primate and a species of slow loris that is native to the northern and central highland region of the island of Borneo. The species was originally thought to be a part of the Bornean slow loris (N. menagensis) population until 2013, when a study of museum specimens and photographs identified distinct facial markings, which helped to differentiate it.

Nycticebus kayan es una especie de primate estrepsirrino del género Nycticebus (loris perezosos) descubierto en 2012 en la isla de Borneo. ​​​ Hasta entonces se clasificó dentro de la especie Nycticebus menagensis (lori de Borneo), pero sobre la base de estudios sobre especímenes en museos y fotografías se establecieron rasgos faciales distintivos que llevaron a clasificarlo como especie diferente. ​ La especie habita al centro y norte de la isla de Borneo en Sarawak, Sabah y Kalimantan oriental.
