Argentinian Silverside

Odontesthes est un genre de poissons de la famille des Atherinopsidae, sous-famille des Atherinopsinae, originaire d'Amérique du Sud et comprenant notamment l'espèce Odontesthes bonariensis.

Odontesthes bonariensis is a species of Neotropical silverside, an euryhaline fish native to fresh, brackish and salt water in south-central and southeastern South America, but also introduced elsewhere. Odontesthes argentinensis es una especie de pez atheriniforme de la familia Atherinopsidae. Habita en aguas costeras del Cono Sur de América del Sur, y es denominada comúnmente pejerrey baboso o escardón. Posee una carne sabrosa, por lo que es buscado por los pescadores deportivos.
