Shortnose Mantis Shrimp

Odontodactylus est un genre de crustacés de l'ordre des stomatopodes (« crevettes-mantes »).

Odontodactylus brevirostris is a species of mantis shrimp in the family Odontodactylidae found in the tropical Indo-Pacific, including Hawai'i. Description Adults have elongated bodies with large stalked eyes and mottled brown coloration. The uropods are pink and the raptorial appendages display alternating red and white bands.

Odontodactylus, del griego clásico ὀδούς (odoús), "diente", y δάκτυλος (dáktulos), "dedo", es un género de camarón mantis, el único género representante en la familia Odontodactylidae. ​ El camarón mantis del género Odontodactylus no solo puede detectar polarización circular de la luz, sino que también puede detectar luz polarizada reflejada en su telson y urópodos.
