Opsiphanes cassina merianae

Opsiphanes cassina est une espèce d'insectes lépidoptères (papillons) qui appartient à la famille des nymphalidés et au genre Opsiphanes. Dénomination Opsiphanes cassina a été décrit par Cajetan Freiherr von Felder et Rudolf Felder en 1862. Sous-espèces Opsiphanes cassina cassina Opsiphanes cassina aiellae Bristow Opsiphanes cassina barkeri Bristow, 1991 ; présent en Équateur.

Opsiphanes cassina, the split-banded owlet, is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Nymphalidae. As of January 2023, revision by Piovesan et al. 2023, suggests the species should be a junior synonym of Opsiphanes invirae (Hübner, [1808]), and the various former subspecies placed in other combinations or as synonyms.
