Red Porgy

Pagrus pagrus, appelé pagre commun, pagre rouge ou encore brème de mer ou dorade, est un poisson de la famille des Sparidae. Il peut être facilement confondu avec le pagre à points bleus, le pageot commun ou le denté commun. Étymologie Pagrus est un nom latin désignant le pagre, issu du grec phágros, même sens.

The red porgy (Pagrus pagrus), also known as the common seabream or Couch's bream, is a species of marine ray-finned fish in the family Sparidae. It is found in shallow waters on either side of the Atlantic Ocean, being present on the western coast of Europe and the Mediterranean Sea as well as the eastern coasts of North and South America and the Caribbean Sea. It feeds on or near the seabed and most individuals start life as females and later change sex to males.

El pargo común (Pagrus pagrus) es una especie de pez perciforme de la familia Sparidae. Habita el Atlántico desde las islas británicas hasta el sur de Argentina, prefiriendo las regiones subtropicales a baja y media profundidad, y se cría también en piscifactorías para su consumo. ​ Nombres comunes En Argentina se lo conoce como besugo.
