Van Someren's Green-Banded Swallowtail

Papilio interjectana, aussi appelé Papilio interjecta, est une espèce de lépidoptères (papillons) de la famille des Papilionidae. Cette espèce est présente en Afrique subsaharienne. Systématique L'espèce Papilio interjectana a été décrite pour la première fois en 1995 par l'entomologiste britannique Richard Irwin Vane-Wright (d) (1942-) dans Carcasson's African Butterflies.

Papilio interjectana, the Van Someren's green-banded swallowtail, is a species of swallowtail butterfly from the genus Papilio that is found in Uganda and Kenya. Taxonomy Papilio interjectana belongs to a clade called the nireus species group with 15 members. The pattern is black with green bands and spots and the butterflies, although called swallowtails lack tails with the exception of Papilio charopus and Papilio hornimani.

Papilio nireus es una mariposa de la familia Papilionidae. Se encuentra en África subsahariana. La envergadura es de 75-90 milímetros (3-3,5 plg) en machos y 85-95 milímetros (3,3-3,7 plg) en hembras.
