Le gomphe de Géné (Paragomphus genei) est une espèce d'insectes de la famille des Gomphidae appartenant au sous-ordre des Anisoptera dans l'ordre des Odonates. Elle a été décrite en 1841 par l'entomologiste belge Edmond de Sélys Longchamps. Comme tous les odonates, l'adulte est un prédateur et la naïade (larve) est également prédatrice et se nourrit d'invertébrés aquatiques.
Paragomphus genei, the common hooktail, is a species of dragonfly in the family Gomphidae. Distribution and status It is found in Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Israel, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Oman, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and possibly Burundi. Also lives in the south of Iberian Peninsula in Europe.
