Paralabrax clathratus, le Serran des algues, est une espèce de poissons marins à nageoires rayonnées de la sous-famille des Serraninae (famille des Serranidae qui comprend, entre autres, les mérous et les anthias). On le trouve dans l'est de l'océan Pacifique Nord, où il s'agit d'une espèce importante pour la pêche sportive et commerciale. Paralabrax clathratus, the kelp bass, bull bass or calico bass, is a species of marine ray-finned fish, from the subfamily Serraninae, classified as part of the family Serranidae which includes the groupers and anthias. It is found in the eastern North Pacific Ocean where it is an important species for both recreational and commercial fisheries. Description Paralabrax clathratus has an elongate, relatively deep, compressed body with a pointed snout and a large, downturned mouth.
