The dash-and-dot goatfish (Parupeneus barberinus) is a species of goatfish native to the Indian and Pacific oceans. Description The dash-and-dot goatfish has the twin chin barbels typical of goatfishes. The body color is white with a black to dark brown stripe (dash) reaching from the upper lip through the eye and along the body, followed by a black spot (dot) at the base of the caudal fin.

Parupeneus barberinus es una especie de peces de la familia Mullidae en el orden de los Perciformes. Morfología • Los machos pueden llegar alcanzar los 60 cm de longitud total. ​ Distribución geográfica Se encuentra desde el Golfo de Adén y Omán hasta Sudáfrica, las Islas Marquesas, las Tuamotu, sur del Japón , Australia y Nueva Caledonia.
