Nacre ( NAY-kər, also NAK-rə), also known as mother-of-pearl, is an organic–inorganic composite material produced by some molluscs as an inner shell layer. It is also the material of which pearls are composed. It is strong, resilient, and iridescent.
Se denomina oruga a la larva de los insectos del orden Lepidoptera (incluye a las mariposas diurnas y nocturnas). Las orugas son típicamente blandas y cilíndricas. Algunas poseen vistosos colores, que advierten de su toxicidad o desagradable sabor.
