Vanikoro sweeper

Pempheris est un genre de poissons marins de la famille des Pempheridae. Il est parfois fait mention de la famille des Pempherididae mais ce synonyme n'est pas valide.

Pempheris vanicolensis, the Vanikoro sweeper or greenback bullseye is a species of Indo-Pacific fish from the family Pempheridae, the sweepers. Description Pempheris vanicolensis has a compressed body which is deepest at the origin of the dorsal fin, before it tapers markedly towards the tail, mainly on the ventral side, with a narrow caudal peduncle. It normally has a greenish sheen over the back and most of the head.

Los barrenderos (familia Pempheridae) son una familia de peces marinos incluida en el orden Perciformes. Se distribuyen por el oeste del Atlántico y por los océanos Índico y Pacífico. ​ Tienen el cuerpo comprimido con una longitud máxima de unos 30 cm, con un maxilar que no se extiende más allá del centro de sus grandes ojos.
